¨A positive attitude , even in dire circumstances, helps people maintain their zest for living and hope for the future.¨ Theme, like the one stated above, is saying that we should keep our head held up high even in the worst situations because others will see and also will keep their head held up high for the world to see. Finding themes in the stories, plays, or poems that we read is so important because It can change the person’s perspective in the world in good a way. This quote pairs perfectly with the theme because This is showing how she can't even go to school anymore let alone outside and those are things we often take for granted everyday. In addition, Anne couldn’t live a normal child’s life because of her belief. This theme also becomes clear when Mr.Vann Daan says “ Someone knows we're here yes but who is this someone a thief you think a thief is going to go tell the green police and say I was robbing the place and the other night I heard a noise up over my head you think a thief is going to do that” (Goodrich and Hackett 255). This excerpt connects to the them because They are worried the thief heard them upstair and will sell them out for money and they were just having dinner like a normal family. This excerpt also brings attention to the idea that a little sound or noise could end their life in a matter of time.
