I found an article about spanking a child reported by Sarah Kovac July 23, 2014. Based on the article , more than half of women and three quarters of men spank their kids in the United States. However, the scientists believe that physical punishment essentially alters the brain not only in a traumatized way but also may have detrimental effects on their brain’s development. I agree because spanking children regularly will lead into a depression, addiction and some mental health problems. Researchers also believe that children who had regularly spanked from their parents had less gray matter in certain areas of their prefrontal cortex.
