Gender equality is a hot topic for protests and discussions recently. Even though there’ve been legal improvements for the female like prohibit sex discrimination in schools, work, allowing them to vote, allow them to run for important positions in the government. Men don’t have as much legal restriction as women, they still have tight restriction for how should they behave. There are still unspoken stereotypes and expectations for both male and female. The Vogue’s magazine cover of LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen posed as the World War I propaganda “Destroy This Mad Brute” sexistly described the gender stereotypes for female and male body. Let’s look at the positive way first. It’s popular among sports that when an athlete is really good,that person is called a beast. And out of all the athletes out there,LeBron James deserves that title the most. He’s big,he’s really strong, and he’s super fast. He’s the only player in NBA history to be able to play and defend all five positions, from point guard to center. Being two times NBA champions,two times NBA Finals Most Valuable Player and four times NBA regular season Most Valuable Player, he is truly a beast.
