Designers can have very influential impacts on people in the design field or not. Some may not know it or understand it, which makes design more successful in the real world. The profession of a designer can be hectic or turbulent one. They want to know what’s going on in the world all the times but each designer sees it differently, which helps design evolve. Designers know how to ask the right questions and go above and beyond to come up with new questions and new ways of look at things. In the end, this is what is essential in developing new design in society. In the reading, Bright Minds, Beautiful Ideas, all the designers stood out in there own way. Each one had a unique intake on design. But the duo of Charles and Ray Eames and Marti Guixe stood out the most to me personally. Charles and Ray Eames is a legendary couple and have made amazing work since the early 1900’s. On the other hand Marti Guixe caught my attention because he first started his design career at a college in Barcelona, which he began to major in interior design. My major right now is in interior design so I can relate to him on that level. The married Eames couple started out in the early 1900’s but they influence so many designers in present day. Reading about their work and learning where they have come from shows exactly how strong these two designers are. Charles started out being an architect and that’s what I was considering going into coming into college. As his mindset changed more into the design field, so did mine before college. His career in the design world starts similar, almost the same, as mine, which helps me, relate to him personally. What also caught my attention is how he met his wife. She is an artist that influenced him in many ways an... ... middle of paper ... ...ea so that it works well with the space. One important project that Guixe took on in his career was when he covered an interior with tape that gave off the sense of “greenery,” instead of adding high-maintenance plants. With this tape he created an inviting and warm space. He thinks creatively and out of the box and most people would ever think to do this, which makes him stand out from most designers. This semester we are going to be tested in each field of design and it will be challenging. Learning about different designers and their own strengths and weaknesses provides an inside of what I can expect for my future. Design isn’t the easiest field to be successful in but it can be one of the most rewarding. During this semester I want to use some of the technics these designers used to progress in my design learning and to get more out of this semester.

Dinnigan’s influences was an accumulation of past designers and her multicultural upbringing is reflected in her designs. In 2004
Not just designers, but also other artists that influence our daily lives like architects and animators and industrial designers. Practically any field you could possibly think of.
Abstraction was a major difference between Morris and Read. While Read advocated about it, Morris’s impression of a post-revolutionary life did not fit the aesthetic ideas that went hand in hand in abstraction. Both Morris and Read showed how there is great art in craftsmanship, and Morris especially showed that in the Red House and Green Dining Room, where they were obviously made for a purpose but still were meticulously crafted by hand to create an aesthetically pleasing work of
He has worked across a wide range of disciplines, creating everything from furniture and household objects to bicycles and cars. However for Marc, his main area of focus was furniture, chairs and lounges in particular. Above is a collection of only a small portion of his work, but even from this sample space alone his design style and intensions are clear. He is a modernist designer that doesn't want his work confined by corners and sharp edges. These designs are focused on curves and flow which has seemed to be desired by the market. They want to believe it is reflective of the lives flowing and free and positive vibe in modern culture. This curved based design combined with the material common to his work, metallic metals results in a very interesting reflection of light that is something the Newson strives for in a lot of his

Design has established itself as core elements in societies helping countless communities build infrastructure, invent new ways to better living conditions and create design desirable for consumption hence bettering the economy. Though this is a positive, most designers of the 21st century use their skills and their designs alike for those who can afford it; designing for what’s in fact the minority, 10% of the world’s population. The reason why developmental aid and design for development is essential to improving standards of living for those who live in developing countries, but to also bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. Ilse Oosterlaken (2009, p.100) equates most designs for development that use a `participatory' process as having a limited, user-centred approach; and suggests instead a more universal design approach, which she calls ‘capability sensitive design’. This essay will illustrate designs that have contributed to developmental design through capability sensitive design approach, considering sustainable design that are not only better the environment, community health and social welfare but the country’s economic standing. Through evaluating each example’s potential for real, sufficient, diverse and lasting value for the targeted users we can determine each design’s efficiency.

After being ranked 8th in the world and having a known name in the sporting industry, he was easily contacted and hired for designing sports/surfing magazines and advertisements. In the interview conducted by Designboom, Carson stated that he had no real formal training in the design world, resulting in a lack of knowledge in basic design content (i.e. grids, formulas, schools of thought, etc.) (Designboom, 2014). But, with his early interest and education in sociology, and his Bachelor of Arts degree, he is easily able to work with real stories, real people, events, and music. When Carson is given the brief article that he must design around, or the client’s idea pitch, he just designs what he feels is right (Designboom, 2014). The more pieces he creates, the more experimental he gets. This act of fearlessness and adventuresome is what makes him such a desirable designer. Clients are confident that he will produce something unique, beautiful, and daring. Carson stated that his strongest skill is his “ability to speak visually and emotionally to a wide variety of audiences and topics” (Designboom, 2014). Carson has been in the design industry for many years and has worked with many varied clients, making his knowledge and level of creativity mastered. His curious, bold, and open-minded personality, plus his experimental, clever, and unique approach to design, has made the successful designer who he is
The main argument of this text is a strong belief in the designer having an important impact on sustainability, as they are the ones most likeable to decrease environmental impact through their design.

Designers have always focused on designing for the visual aestetic and the effecientcy of the function of products. However designers are now using their skills to help eradicate social issues within the world, such as providing lower helth care costs and proper living conditions around the world. Social innovation through design sees to designing for social change (Mulgan, 2006).
... stages that we have to do in order to make a good and functional design; they are programming, design development, construction documents and installation. Day once said, "It's all about vision, the vision of the designer & the vision of the client." I personally agree with her quote, which in other words means that both the designer and the client’s ideas are equally important because when they combine ideas, it will make one incredible design.
