It’s game day in St. Louis, Missouri. The streets are filled with Cardinal fans covered in bright red and navy blue, and here and there are a few of the Pirate fans brave enough to show off their Pittsburgh pride. As my family and I walk down Eighth Street amongst a sea of baseball enthusiasts, tourists, and vendors, I can see the stadium get closer and closer. The burnt reddish brown bricks come into sight, as well as the worn down statues of former St. Louis players. Behind the stadium I can see a picture perfect blue sky and feel the warmth traveling from the sun onto my skin. The weather is ideal for an early August baseball game; it is not too hot out, but not cold enough to make us be in need of sweatshirts after the sun goes down.

Even though St. Louis has a high crime rating it is still a nice city. St. Louis is a well- liked city because of all its attractions and things to do. It would be a nice place to go if you want to go on a vacation or just a fun weekend. An everyday walk through the Downtown Champaign area is much more diverse in its structure than I had initially expected it to be. For my photo essay assignment, I took camera phone to downtown Champaign to capture different elements of the city. Compared to the city of Chicago, whose commercial spaces are taken by franchises, the downtown Champaign area has kept its traditional small town vibes with local companies while also taking on more modern commercial characteristics. The city has found a balance between the buildings and the fonts the accompany them which is what my photos revolve around. It was due to this idea that people passing through that downtown area experience both modern and traditional parts of the city.

El Paso is 256.3 square miles, so in my eyes it’s pretty big. From the alluring sight of the sunset that the west side of El Paso provides, to the desert view the far east side shows for miles on end there are just so many beautiful places to go. Yet of all the places to go there’s one that I always enjoy visiting, and that’s downtown. I love walking around downtown and exploring each of its stores, casting an eye over its beautiful buildings, and contemplating the atmosphere that is downtown.
Hand granade – A family tradition Adapting to New Orleans was not hard as I thought it would be. I would say it is one of the most welcoming cities I have ever been to. I moved to New Orleans around six years ago from Honduras and adapted fast to it. Its culture, food, music, drinks and traditions are something everyone should experience at least once in their lifetime.
