Often times we set ourselves up with expectations based off of what society says we should be doing, how we should look, and live our lives. But, Expectations doesn’t come in a “one size fits all box”. Each one of us are different and we should have different views of life, with one focus, which is God. The definition of expectation is a “belief that someone will or should achieve something”. But who is the director of your life? Sometimes we set these expectations so high for ourselves, I have friends that are so active and into everything, But, I work on a different system. Usually our expectations are based off of another person’s view of what “should be”, not from our own minds. If we had nothing to compare our lives to, how could it be an “expectation”? It wouldn’t, we would just be living to our own standards, doing whatever makes us happy. Life would be easier without expectations. I’m not saying not to set standards or goals for yourself, but I’m saying do it based off of what makes you happy, when you feel it’s the right time, not when the world says it has to be done! In the Bible God says “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope”. Meaning that it is already written, no one can change what’s for you, no one can change when it’s ”your time” the only person that can stop anything from happening in your life is you ! God said “The hope of the righteous brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked will perish”. All things will come when it’s supposed to, but only if you let God work. Because you didn’t allow him to work in your life, you wanted to control it or compare it to another person’s life. You set your expectations on a level that was never for you. Who are you more trying to please, the world or God? Pleasing the world will lead to so many unfulfilled expectations and you won’t even realize that you are your own problem. Rather if it’s small or big, some people just have different needs for their lives, than what you need. Some people have different callings on them than you do. God has already said it, so be patience for his direction. Do what your heart desires you to do and do what makes you happy, (as long as it’s
