Friendship is defined as a mutual relationship between two people. Out of all the friendships I’ve had, I was able to divide them down into 5 categories. There are different types of friendships such as new friendships, old friendships, troubled friendships, trustful friendships, and casual friendships. All of these friendships are different. New friendships are relationships that come along whenever you meet someone new. You sometimes have common interests or goals. Within new friendships, it’s an opportunity to start over and grow. Although new friendships can be a positive thing, they also have some down sides. New friendships can sometimes come with secrets and lies. It could mean you have been friends with someone for a very long time and they have kept all your secrets. OR it could mean that you were friends before and something happened to destroy the friendship, so it resulted in not being friends anymore. Old friendships are filled with memories and laughter. Troubled friendships are relations where two or more people have problems or conflict. This could be caused by anything as little as canceling on someone or stealing their boyfriend. Troubled friendships can be formed from people that have been friends in the past and have a history of conflict. Some work themselves out and it’s just a “phase” through the friendship. Some friendships aren’t that lucky. Trustful friendships are friendships that are reliable. They are usually between two people who have known each other for a significant amount of time. You’ll always have someone there for you to count on. Being trustful is a complete belief in the reliability, truthfulness, or strength of someone. You can rely on someone to tell all your secrets and worries on. You can also trust them to be 100% honest and truthful with you. Being in a trustful friendship means that you have someone to get advice from and someone to give advice
