There are many things that come to mind when people think of a friendship. But what actually goes into it? Is it just picking another human and saying “hey, I like you”? Not at all. It starts out with common interests, of course, but what goes into a friendship is important, and it defines the word. There are many friendships around the world, but none of them are the same. Even though each individual friendship is different, there are certain things that are present in each one: happiness, trust, and love.
When people are out with a group of friends they are most like having a great time. Going out could mean going on a vacation, doing something new like skydiving, or simply going out to eat. These experiences can change your mood, and in turn, increase your happiness. When going through hard times, friends will be able to support and comfort you. Close friendships are like family, and they are also filled with love just like a family would be. Some people only think of marriage or family when they think of love, but don’t realize that true friendships can carry love within. They have the same characteristics like family. Friends are there for you, are loyal, and will always have advice for you, whether you want it or not. Your friends may not be blood related, but that does not mean that there’s no love in your friendship. Love is simply an emotion, powered by personal attraction, driven by the quality of the friendship.
