She dropped out of high school so that she could pursue her love of racing. She first started her career in England.
In England, she was the first woman who placed second in the Formula Ford Festival event. She was also the first American to place this high in the event.
In 2005, Danica Patrick became the fourth woman to race in the Indianapolis 500 and she finished fourth. Fourth place was the highest placement ever for a female driver.
She was named “Rookie of The Year” in 2005. They announced this at the IRL championship.
