Do you think body building is healthy? Well it is not. As though it might seem healthy for you because of all the vitamins and organic food body builders consume, it is actually really bad for you. Body building, if done right, can be an excellent way of getting in shape and becoming a healthier new you and also it will increase your strength and overall health. But with all of the steroids, supplements, bad dieting habits and extreme workouts, it is very dangerous and unhealthy to the human body. The dangers of body building can be decreased by those who take the time and gain the knowledge to train properly and effectively.
Body building is a lifestyle where you combine good nutrition with training for muscle and strength. Body Builders work out six days a week and most days, two times a day. When starting off at the sport, some people take training too seriously and they pushed themselves too hard. Doing so causes injuries and delay in their progress. Many contenders suffer from high cholesterol and high blood pressure due to their taxing diets. Putting your body through such extreme lifting, steroids, bad dieting, it all increases the risk of heart issues and complications. The cause of this happening is most likely because they don’t see immediate progress.
Non-competitive body building is very healthy because the person is training here and there, eats very clean with not many processed foods and is usually taking a number of supplements. You really can’t get much healthier than that. Competitive body building is a whole different story. ...You need to be hydrated to keep your body going and just to keep your body healthy. Steroids will enhance your body up to three times the size you started. Steroids sometimes will cause swelling in your brain and leave you with a severe high blood pressure. They will leave some people excessively aggressive or suicidal. “Using steroids for building muscles is not only wrong but is illegal.’’ (V.M. Katoch). Non-competitive body building is very healthy because all of the nutrients and healthy diets they put themselves on to accomplish their goal. “Look at all the diets that just banish and eliminate and demonize entire food groups, or they starve you with 1000, or 800 or 600 calories a day, or they restrict you to nothing but lemon water or vegetable juice. That kind of dieting is unhealthy.” (Venuto Tom). Body building is overall not healthy for you and your body.
