Awakening Frozen silence of a winter's dawn, matted brown pine needles peaking out of a powdery white carpet frosted trees sagging from the weight of last night's snowfall. Large flakes fell from heaven as if the angels were having a pillow fight and the goose down fell to our humble homes. Though beautiful the snow was cold and sharp as it bit at our fingers and the wind kissed the people's cheeks in the stunning forest. Like a wolf the snow bit at our fingers with its sharp icy teeth. How rare it is for the first time for such a still place to be when we ourselves are so busy in our minds that there is somewhere which can only listen. All in simple perfection. They wanted to stay longer, but when the daughter of the family peeked outside it was raining. The rain poured down from the sky and met the ground with a calming noise, as if it was the sweet nectar of life that made Mother Earth radiate. Then, she asked, "Mother, father, are we supposed to leave right now?" They made no reply because of the distraction of the delicious, mouth-watering taste of turkey. They never taste food like these except seafood. Instead, the mrs. Everfree asked nonchalantly, "Fauna, dear maybe you should get more branches for the fire. And then get over here, or else we'll eat your plate." Fauna Everfree stuck her tongue out and leave. Surprisingly, the forest was not raining nor wet. Perhaps, it was a hallucination. She climbed on an enormous tree while taking bits of branches and stared at the shooting stars and to the constellations, that her eyes can create with the stars its truly a magical effect. She thought, "The perfect night sky, it looks like its covered by a dome and the stars appear to be closer. The darker the sky the clearer the stars appear. As her hair in rich shade of mahogany, it flowed, tears started running out of her captivating hazel eyes, flowed to her straight nose, rosy cheeks and full lips. The wind howled, voices echoed through her ears, the trees' branches looked like distorted limbs reaching toward her and spirits surrounded her. The biggest of them all, the god of spirits howled, "You shouldn't have come here!" The spirits strangled her arms like vines. With all her voice, she roared, "Where are my parents and leave me alone!" It cackled, "Fiesty one- anyways, I threw your parents into the bottomless pit, guess their not 'everfree anymore'. Then, you are next." Its torch lightened into multiple colors of flames. In the nick of time, someone became her shield. Someone hugged her, a mysterious male, dragon spirit hugged her as shield and carried her. He yelled, "One more attempt, I'll kill you." Everyone's eyes widened. She stopped crying and he put her down, gently. "Your parents ate our feast for this night. By the exchange, you must help us from the avalanche tomorrow and you all are free- tomorrow. Everyone agreed and told their stories at that night. Next day, a humongous avalanche scrambled down as the sun stared down at the world, the snow melted in the
