Rumor Has It As Carl Anderson is walking through school one day he looks around and notices all the conversations taking place in the hallway. As he passes by a group of guys he hears a little snippet of their conversation and this makes Carl very curious. Carl wonders what it would be like if he knew and could hear what everyone one was talking about. He wanted to know all the gossip that was going around at school. Carl was just your average high-schooler that played soccer and ran track. He was not a popular kid nor was he at the bottom. He was just a average kid with a good amount of friends. “Did you hear that rumor going around about Carl Anderson?” says Stacy to Annie, who are the two most popular girls in Carl’s grade. “No, what is it?” replies Annie Clearly they did not see Carl was already in class. Carl was about ready to burst and confront Stacy and Annie but he did not give in. He continues to think how much easier his life would be if he could have heard the rest of their conversation. At the end of class Carl bumps into Stacy and Annie and he decides this is the perfect time to confront them. “What were saying about me as you two walked in?” Carl asks Stacy and Annie. “Oh it was nothing.” replies Stacy. Carl sees right through there lies but he decides that it isn’t worth it to make a big deal of it. “Phew, that was a close one.” Says Annie as they are out of the reach of Carl’s ears. “I heard that it was true that Martha really does have a crush on Carl.” Says Stacy to Annie. “Wow. I can’t believe that Martha likes Carl. Now that I think about it they do kinda seem like a good couple.” Carl’s jaw kinda drops a little because he doesn’t know how he was able to hear Stacy when she was already halfway down the hallway. He could also hear everyone else’s conversations in the hallway too. When he focused on a certain conversation though the other conversations kinda just faded away and he didn’t notice them. Carl was so excited to realize that his wish had actually came true and he had a kind of supernatural power. He had to get to his friends to inform them. At first his friends did not believe him at all but Carl confirmed his hearing powers when two of his buddies went to the other end of the hallway and said something to each other.
