Concealers are considered to be color correctors. The purpose of concealers is to mask dark circles, age spots, and blemishes that are seen on the skin. It is thicker than foundation, and it has different pigments. It does this by blending around the skin. Concealers are applied after the primer and before the foundation on the face. Using concealers and foundations make the skin more even toned based on its color. Concealers have more pigments in them. It can be found in the liquid or solid form. Foundation is normally put on larger areas. Women can use concealers by itself or with foundations. Concealers are available from the lightest and deepest shades. Women have a tendency to choose shades lighter than their skin tone to hide blemishes and dark circles under the eye. Some of the colors give the natural skin tone, while others are used to contrast with a blemish. Concealers that have yellow undertones hide dark circles. The act of cosplay, the abbreviated form of “costume play”, is defined by Oxford Dictionary as “the practice of dressing up as a character from a movie, book, or video game, especially one from the Japanese genres of manga and anime”. However, there is much more to a cosplayer than this simple definition leads one to believe. To its most dedicated patrons, cosplay is an art form incorporating unlimited mediums, such as textile fabrication, woodworking, clay sculpting, resin casting, and even theatrical makeup. Some enthusiasts take cosplay far more seriously than a weekend social hobby. While some would be content with purchasing a commissioned piece or mass produced costume for their convention adventures others are not satisfied until they have handcrafted a masterpiece with 100% accuracy. These cosplayers will spend week or months and hundreds of dollars insure their costume is a perfect adaption of their selected character. Yet for some that is still not enough. The poem We Wear the Mask by Paul Dunbar is filled with many powerful statements. Dunbar talks writes about how there is so much hurt behind people’s smiles and so much pain in their past. He also asks why society should be “over-wise;” it tries to act like it knows what is best for people. The play An Octoroon by Branden Jacobs-Jenkins has a lot in common with this poem. Nataki Garrett who was the director of this play at the Mixed Blood Theatre saw how well this poem went with the play, and she added it into the program. Both the poem and the play talk about how it was like for African Americans to live in a white dominated society.

Due to such a variety, it makes it difficult for scholars, let alone the audience to make decipher each classification. Hannya is a famous example of the masks changing for one character. This story is where an elderly woman transforms into a snake demon. However, if one is not looking closely or having prior knowledge, the snake demon mask can be mistaken easily for most other demon masks worn by female characters. Although there weren’t always terms for the acts, cross-dressing and homosexuality have existed since man has. Although they have both taken place for thousands of years, there is very rare documentation of the participants—particularly after the rise of Christianity and the condemnation of any of these marginalized groups of people. The American western frontier was no different—men and women continued to participate in cross-dressing and had relations with those of the same sex. However what is particularly interesting about this time and place is how men and women utilized their resources to deceive their communities and benefit from these largely taboo—particularly at the time—performances. The environment in the west was vastly diverse in the late 1800’s/early 1900’s and to the few documented cases that exist today better depict the reactions of different mining towns, reservations or frontiers.
