My best and worst trait is insatiable curiosity, especially when it comes to electronic gadgets and PCs. I was the kid that rips open a brand new remote car to pull every component apart rather than playing with it. Over the years, I moved on to gutting PCs’ components, breaking some, and learning along the way. Later, I grew and graduated to dissecting and creating my own website and yet, my curiosity is still acute as ever. Knowledge of the digital world is infinite and I always have a strong urge to learn more about it.
In Malaysia, computer engineering is still in a developing stage and most of the universities in my country are not fully equipped to offer a full-fledged computer courses. My family impressed upon me that if I want to have the best education in your life then obtain it from the best university. Well, Purdue University is one of the highest rated university offering computer engineering programs in America.
It is a fact that the United States of America is the most scientifically and technologically advanced country in the world. This is because of its numerous entrepreneurship and scientific achievements. These great qualities are of the product of the academic environment and the strong learning spirit, which is inculcated by the American education system thus making it the best in the world. It is also a known fact that Neil Armstrong is also an alumni of Purdue University, therefore this institute has a special place not only in America but also in the world. Being a student in such a reckoning college would be a lifetime opportunity.

I was an active member of my Red Cross Society. As a commander and quarter master in my high school Red Cross Society, I played a vital role in the organization and execution of event such as the Sport Day and major inter-school marching competitions. I feel the ability to work in a team efficiently and speak out our opinion in discussion are crucial in any chosen career. My personal goal is to develop my public speaking and managerial skills further. University is the place where students can discuss and simulate situations that they will face throughout his career in a secured environment. As the child of two Indiana University graduates, I am very familiar with IU. My family watches IU basketball, receives alumni mail, and visits Bloomington often. However, my early familiarity with the school discouraged my interest in IU. I had lofty dreams of going somewhere prestigious and far away, but now I’m realizing the flaw in that line of reasoning. I want to be an entrepreneur, and Kelley is the 8th best business school in the country. I don’t really want to live on the east coast, and I want to be close to the community of people I have invested in here, in Indianapolis. IU also provides me with the ability to explore a variety of academic interests because of the sheer number of credits that I will begin with. I am a good student and a hard worker, and I am confident that I could do great things for my community and myself if I was picked to be a Wells Scholar at IU. I believe WHS should nominate me for the Wells Scholarship because of my academic achievement, extracurricular involvement, and character.
In my opinion, to properly evaluate effectiveness of NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering, we need to simultaneously consider all three ideas rather than to focus only one individual idea. We can fundamentally define effectiveness for NYU Polytechnic as “the degree to which NYU Polytechnic is successful in attracting students, in pursuing an updated curriculum that properly diagnoses changing needs finds solutions, and in controlling costs of these activities while not compromising success principles. Looking through these facts and perspective, the measurement of NYU Polytechnic effectiveness depends on current external applicant pool from which NYU Polytechnic chooses its undergraduate students, the degree to which current curriculum is updated and how efficiently NYU Polytechnic pursues its calendar activities.
I am from a small town and was looking to be part of a community. The town of wayne is very welcoming to students without being too overwhelmingly huge. I loved the small town feel of campus and all the student are very friendly. The class sizes are small and the teachers actually care about getting to know us students. Unlike huge universities I felt like I could get involved with things on campus and really enjoy my time as a student.

Because of all the different advantages and disadvantages of each college, picking one single school to attend for the next four years can be a difficult task. Franklin College, the University of Louisville, and Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis all have desirable aspects. The multitudes of extracurricular and academic activities I participate in were chosen because of their focus on my interests. I want to pursue a career in computer engineering and/or biological engineering. In order to help me accomplish this I carefully consider how extracurricular and academic activities will assist me in the future. Currently I am participating in several rigorous academic courses such as AP Physics C and AP Calculus BC to gear me towards a college environment, as well as a variety of clubs that focus on engineering and the sciences. A vast majority of the classes I take are advanced placement, which gives me the chance to obtain college credit before entering college. Advance placement classes also challenge me with faster paced instruction, which prepare me for the speed and difficulty of college level courses. I am currently taking AP Biology, AP Computer Science A, , AP Literature and Composition, AP U.S. Government and Politics, Pre-AP Chinese IV, and Honors Independent Research. In terms of extracurricular activities, I currently participate in the Stock Market Club, Science and Engineering Club, our school’s FRC team, and Chinese Club. In my free time I enjoy building computers, putting together parts lists for computers, programming, playing video games, and learning about various technical jobs and new computing technologies such as server administrator and quantum computing.
