Opportunity and Challenge in Houston City
Nowadays, there are many people are settling in Houston, because it is not only one of the largest cities in the United States, but also it has a lot of other conveniences, and along with the continuous development of economic and social life is improved. For this reason, Houston attracts people from all over the world. Besides that, Houston still has a number of opportunities and challenges for people. There are three factors of opportunities and challenges affecting to people's lives in Houston as follows: employment, transportation, and environmental.

In Houston, the transportation is very diverse, and a variety of ways such as: bus, car, train, taxi, and plane. People can easily move from one place to another place in an easy and fast condition. However, due to migrations have been increasing day by day quickly, and the situation of transportation has changes and challenges, so Houston‘s infrastructure of transportation are reduced quality. People are often stuck in traffic during rush hour, and the important routes. According to a new survey, over 500,000 people drive to work every day on major roads. For example, my friend Tom, he spends one hour to go to work and one hour to go back home every day. For this reason, people must take a lot of time on the way from home to the company and from the company to go back home. The invention of the steam engine not only allowed people to move across the country in 7 days, instead of 6 months, but it also allowed crops and livestock to be carried to markets and places where they would be sold anywhere in the country. They could be moved to another farm in Texas as well. Since it’s such a large state, railroads were a necessity for travel, and general transportation. The railroad-building boom lasted 40 years. The most noticeable inconvenience of driving in Miami is traffic congestion. In fact, because the highways are cluttered with a significant amount of vehicles carpooling is encouraged. For this purpose, high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes were formed. Each weekday, a simple twenty-minute drive turns into an eternal wait for forward progress. With each minute that goes by cars advance less than twenty feet. And while the traffic may open up in some areas, in its entirety I-95 remains congested during the morning and evening hours, as seen in the image where cars on the South Florida Highways line up bumper-to-bumper. The cause for such highway clutter varies, but it is interesting to note the difficulty in explaining highway driving conditions. It is uncertain as to whether the accidents cause traffic congestion or the traffic congestion causes accidents. Either way, the main roads and highways commuters take to work are crowded with drivers. Furthermore, I-95 passes through several commercial districts in the lower Miami area. Whoosh! That is the precise sound I heard as the crazed flock of travelers headed for the train terminal. My best friend, Stacy, and I were left disoriented and understandably confused once the crowd thinned. We were at Madison Square Garden at the train terminal awaiting our train back to the hotel; it was our first trip to New York City. As one may imagine, it was a fascinating and surreal voyage into extreme urban life. It was so enthralling and exciting that afterward I felt compelled to make a permanent trek to a large city. Due to my experiences in cities like Atlanta and New York, I have an increasing desire to live in a large city because of the various forms of entertainment, myriad of transportation, and the never-ending excitement typical of such a fast-paced lifestyle.
The development of every nation hinges on the effectiveness of their transportation systems. Movement of goods, services and people to and from locations is made possible by transportation systems. The importance of effective transportation systems cannot be over-emphasized. Many countries face transportation problems and my country Ghana is no exception. Most people use public transportation such as BTS and MRT to go each places while many people are using their own cars to travel. Thereby, both transportations have the same destination that is taking and moving people.
