As someone who experiences moderate memory problems due to Fibromyalgia, I identify in some ways with the memory loss, attention problems, and in some ways executive functioning symptoms. Physicians can only give palliative treatment for fibromyalgia. The primary goal of palliative care is to prevent secondary illnesses and alleviate patients’ suffering. What physicians offer are the so-called remedies even if they give prescription drugs. When a doctor prescribe analgesics, it does not mean this can ultimately cure the syndrome rather give temporarily relief to patients.

However, there is a big difference in having normal changes in memory and having symptoms of Dementia. Typical aging changes in memory include things like not being able to find the right word when having a conversation and complaining about memory loss but still being able to give detailed examples of things that are being forgotten. A few more signs of typical aging are stopping to remember directions but not getting lost in a familiar place, being able to remember recent events that are important and the conversation isn’t affected, and having the same level of interpersonal social skills that have always been present. Now my Grandfather is at the last stage called severe stage 3 the worse stage of them all. He does not remember anything at all. You may think that how could you possibly forget everything? Well you can’t but you when you are diagnosed with this fatal disease you either go one way or the other you will lose your short term or you will lose your long term. More often you will lose your short term and work you way back into the past forgetting more and more as the days pass.

The therapist is able to manipulate the client's creative expression through process and media to assist the brain in processing visual information (Lusebrink, 2015). Each type of media falls on a spectrum called the Media Dimensions Variable (MDV) which classifies art media and directives based on their inherent qualities. The MDV divides media onto a tri-level spectrum which begins with fluid media, such as watercolor, to resistive media, such as pencil. Next, the creative process can range from simple, such as pencil on paper, to complex such as printmaking. The third spectrum on the MDV is the level of direction given which ranges from unstructured to structured. The first part of this paper describes an intake session with Rachel, a seventeen year old girl who was assessed using the ETC. Post-assessment, the paper explores the course of therapy that was designed with the goal of reaching other levels of the ETC. The MDV was used to relate the media and the directives to Rachel's functioning level. The goal of our treatment was to help her process previous abuse and to
