Julio Montague moved from Corpus Christi, Texas to get away from the gang violence in his neighborhood and school. Julio hates everything about Cincinnati until he meets Romiette Cappelle. Romiette and Julio become extremely close friends after meeting through an internet group chat.

Romiette Cappelle is a sixteen-year-old African-American girl. She has been having the same nightmares for weeks. In the dream Romi is drowning, the water burns and she hears a male voice coaxing her. Romiette loves to read, run, and work with her mother. Julio Montague is a sixteen-year-old Mexican American who loves to swim and play the harp. Romi and Julio friendship begins when they discover they attend the same high school. If you're a fan of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, but didn't like the ending of the book I would definitely recommend this book. Overall the story was good and realistic. Another reason why I would recommend this book because it’s modern time. In closing, the reader will be more likely to relate to the book because of the time
