Online vs. Face-to-face Classes College represents a melting pot of decisions. The opportunity to succeed begins the moment a person decides to enroll. Upon enrolling in college, the dreaded decision of selecting classes to fulfill graduation requirement commences. Considering the teachers to select, ensuring the class fits their degree plan, and weighing daily personal schedules students’ shape their lives. When faced with class choices, the real decision online or face-to-face is a defining factor. In order to provide for their success, a college student has to decide which type of class will provide the coursework in a relevant manner. Within this determination, students can gauge their college success and measure their abilities.
Managing time poorly hinders the completion of assignments by due dates. Often face-to-face classes require regular attendance within the grading scale. Without a proper balance between work and school, priority skews away from class time. In order to complete assignments, one has to balance their time within the class with personal time. Equally, the balance of homework with daily responsibilities ensures success. Moreover, the student’s outside studies provide for deeper meaning and clarification on material provided in
Clearly, regardless of a student’s daily participation, instructors provide lecture material online. Even though the lecture occurs through reading provided material a student can succeed with this format. Combining lecture notes with the text and other course material produce a deeper understanding. Despite the provided material, student collaboration is limited to discussion boards. Obviously, this collaboration does not deepen before the surface. However, they provided for a variety of sources to aid in the understanding of the course material. Similarly, discussion boards allow students to weigh in on a topic throughout a provided period. While in class, only a few have the opportunity to provide commentary due to scheduled class
