In the novel, Hook uses poison to attempt to kill Peter but in the movie Hook leaves a bomb wrapped as a present for Peter which said it was from Wendy. This can show how modernized the world has become since Barrie wrote his novel and by using a bomb it showed how times were changing and it would be more appealing to viewers. Hook was also an interesting character in Peter Pan. Hook and his crew were adults and would come to Neverland.
