In Greek mythologies Heracles and Disney’s Hercules there are many differences that can be spotted. A few of which I will be discussing are when he is a Demi-God, meeting Meg, and when he does his twelve labors. There are also similarities between the two and I will discuss two of which discusses his strength and how he was a Demi-God in both forms of Heracles. Although Greece’s Heracles and Disney’s Hercules have differences, they also have similarities. When Hercules was born in the Disney version he was born among the Greek Gods on Mnt. Olympus as a full God, and when compared to the Greek Myth of Heracles that is very incorrect. In the Greek myth, Heracles was born a Demi-God not among the Gods, but among his mother Alcmene. In the Disney version, Hera was Hercules’s mother, but in the myth Heracles’s mother was a product of Zeus going down from Mnt. With his strength in the Disney version he was an outcast. Everybody saw Hercules as a freak because he was stronger than everyone which scared them, but in the myth his strength was very helpful and beneficial because it brought him to be a part of the Argonauts with Jason and every saw him as a great person. With Hercules being a Demi-God in the Disney and Greek myth it helps him when he does his labors and helps him when he is saving people.
Although Greece’s Heracles and Disney’s Hercules have differences, they also have similarities. After reading the Greek myth and watching the Disney movie I can see what they changed and what they kept the same. Comparing the two you see that Hercules and Heracles have differences, but within the differences there are similarities. Just like the similarities have differences within each
