“If you do what you love, you'll never work a day in your life,” said by Marc Anthony. Work takes up a lot of time in your life. Because of that, one of my most important priorities is to find a job where I can enjoy doing it most of the time. Another priority for me is how much I make. I don’t want to have to worry about finances everyday and want to feel content with the amount of a variety of reasons. I choose civil engineer and software developer because the priorities matched. Both have interesting aspects of their work and, both pay enough. But these two professions have a big impact on society. Civil engineers help maintain the safety of streets and buildings while building new buildings for different purposes. At the same time, software developers build programs that help people. Software developers usually work with others on making and working on programs. They are the ones that make the apps we use today. This job is mostly a technical job, working with computers most of the time. In order to be successful in this job, I will need to be excellent at tech, be a critical thinker, be a good listener, and be able to read well. What I feel drawn to is that it doesn’t seem too stressful and not too boring. Currently, Omidyar Network has a job listing for a software developer. Its offering $100,000-$130,000 in salary compensation. The job task requires knowledge of computer language and 2 years of experience. I would keep track of data and fix problems that arise from programming. Overall, I would want to do what a software developer does on a daily basis.
