Life is a difficult process in which you have to learn to overcome obstacles and learn from them. When someone has a rough childhood and had the roughest time growing up, you can tell when their success is the most important thing that has happened to them. A great example could be a little kid growing up in poverty but ends up being one of the most important soccer players to ever live. The novels The Giver and Perks of Being a Wallflower both develop the coming of age theme for the primary character through influential people, significant experiences, and societal pressures. Coming of age is a topic in which every human being goes through no matter what situation they are in but they are mostly influenced by the people that pass through their life and change them to bad or good.. You might not always be the same person because you are probably not going to be around the same people so you will learn to change based on the good and bad influences. The main thing that changes you is the life events you experience throughout life because during this time you learn best through situations that you never forget about, but none of this could matter if you let a society teach you how to come of age and grow up because they usually shape you to what they believe is the perfect human and do not let you explore your own mind and share your own ideas.
