Everywhere I go, I'm always questioning and analyzing what I am looking at. I ask myself these questions: How does it work? What makes it work? Why does it work? As far as I can remember I have always been this type of person. When I was in Ecuador, I would always buy toys just to take them apart. I always watched in awe as I saw the gears moved like planets in the solar system. After taking apart the different toys, I would put them back together so that I could make my own toys. Every day was a great journey because there was always something to learn, something that I could look forward to. I resumed learning and pursuing my hobby. I tried to learn everything that I could, I wanted to be a genius, and most importantly, I wanted to become a computer engineer. Every single day, I spent hours trying to learn how the computer works. I learned about circuit boards, pixels, among many other things. After a year, I went out to help fix computers for people that I knew. Then one day, for my 13th birthday, my 8th grade teacher gave me a programming book. I skimmed over it and became immediately interested in this new world. Every time I picked up that java book I felt that I was getting fed the delicious foods my grandma used to cook when I was in Ecuador. I taught myself programming in java and after 3 years I feel confident on what I can do. It is so amazing to be able to tell a computer what to do and how to do things. For my mathematics major here at Brooklyn Tech, I use python and java programs that could solve difficult problems in number theory. Every day I continue learning about programming and everyday I realize that there is so much more to it. It is like putting a puzzle together, and being able to do that is such a good
