I believe that classroom management is the key to the enhancement of the students’ educational outcomes and an aid in the development of our future American citizens. Students come to school not only to learn about the curriculum but to learn how to discipline themselves thus, becoming better individuals. This is what I will base my classroom management strategies and techniques off of. My future classroom will be a classroom of equality, individualism, democracy, structure, and community. My goal for classroom management is to create a warm and welcoming climate that is centered around achievement and success, and for the students to have a voice in the rules and management of the classroom. The classroom will have individual desks placed in the shape of a “U,” as well as group work tables. I would like the students to be working together for a majority of their assignments, so seating the students close together is conducive for my lesson plans. Every day, students will be greeted by me at the classroom door, this will make the students feel welcomed and will allow me to assess the students’ emotions. The students will then take their notebooks out and copy down the objectives and learning goals for the day. Next, I will reiterate the objectives and then tell the students what they will be specifically doing for the day’s lesson plan. The lesson will be broken up into two groups; group and individual. The students will be given their assignments and will have to complete the assignments in class or the assignments will become homework. As the students are going about their activities in the class, they are expected to interact with each other but at a reasonable volume. When supplies are needed from the supply cabinet, only one person from each group will be allowed to gather the supplies. This will make the transition times more efficient and reduce the risk of misbehaviors. When class is finished and the bell …show more content…

Once the students have come to a consensus on the rules, I will send a letter home to the students’ parents that will tell the parents what the rules are going to be for the class. This will allow the parents to be conscious about the rules that their sons and daughters will be following in my classroom. In addition, the letter will include a classroom layout that will map the key points of the classroom and the traffic patterns. The purpose of the parent letter is to show that their children will be in a safe and learning conducive environment and for the parents to make comments and be included in the rule making process. It is essential for the students’ parents to have their own opinions in the rule making process because the parents of the students’ know the students the best.
