This was only just the beginning of what is turning out to be a long and tough road. It seemed like fights and protests were breaking out all of the time. If it wasn’t about the lack of freedom that they had because they couldn’t make decisions for themselves, then it was about the new laws that were being made. One particular that angered them was the act that imposed a tax on anything that was printed. From what I heard many of the colonists felt as if they shouldn’t have to pay extra money on something just because the British needed more money. Not only that but they had no choice in the matter because Parliament overruled any decision that Americans made. It was on a weekly trip into town with Mrs. Smith to pick up some groceries and supplies
The colonists were in every right, aspect and mind, not only justified but also it was about time that they stood of and actually take action against the British. The choice of going to war with them, was the only choice that they had. All diplimatical options that they had ceased to stand a chance against the tyrant Britain. From the very beginning when the colonists felt upset against their mother country and the way that they went about the law making, up until the beginning of the war, they tried all diplimatical options that they had, by sending letters, you name it. When they didn’t work then they had no other means but to declare war.
During this entire period the British were starting to make attempts to intimidate the colonists in hopes to end the rebellions. It seemed that the more and more England tried to scare the people, the angrier they got. The tactics obviously didn't work, but instead pushed the colonists even further into standing up against Britain. The British soldiers in America were told not to entice violence, and especially not to kill anybody.
On April 12, 1861, Abraham Lincoln declared to the South that, the only reason that separate the country is the idea of slavery, if people could solve that problem then there will be no war. Was that the main reason that started the Civil war? or it was just a small goal that hides the real big reason to start the war behind it. Yet, until this day, people are still debating whether slavery is the main reason of the Civil war. However, there are a lot of facts that help to state the fact that slavery was the main reason of the war. These evidences can relate to many things in history, but they all connect to the idea of slavery.
The American colonists’ disagreements with British policymakers lead to the colonist’s belief that the policies imposed on them violated of their constitutional rights and their colonial charters. These policies that were imposed on the colonist came with outcome like established new boundaries, new internal and external taxes, unnecessary and cruel punishment, and taxation without representation. British policymakers enforcing Acts of Parliament, or policies, that ultimately lead in the colonist civil unrest, outbreak of hostilities, and the colonist prepared to declare their independence.
Overall, the imperial policy of the British Empire urged the colonists into a state of total rebellion. The colonial economy, geography, and politics had all been subjected to unfair consequences. The acts that were passed served as a way for England to push the responsibility its debt and issues on the colonists. If the colonists’ grievances were appealed to, the colonists may have never rebelled against their mother country.

The Civil War left Texas in ruins with slavery being abolished and African Americans being given rights. This changed the entire political and social structure. Farmers who relied on free labor as their main income suffered greatly. Since most of the battles were not in Texas they did not have to rebuild their infrastructure like other states.
Revolution occurs when two popular forces occupying one area lose reality of their relation to each other. The same can be said for the American Civil War and the leading events that amounted into turmoil. The Southern way of life was trampled over and forgotten by the manufacturers, abolitionists and westward expansionist of the North. However, these people did not move alone, there was a present constitutional and social upheaval that turned the North against South and their way of living delegitimize as “American”. The tension between the North and the South before the Civil War was momentous. Much of this stemmed from their vast differences not only geographically but economically as well. Slavery was one of the major forces that drove the North and South to declare war. The South was abundantly more dependent upon slavery than the North was. It came as no surprise when Lincoln was elected as president in 1860 that it wasn’t long after in 1861 the war began with the battle of Fort Sumter. Although the South won the first battle, the North won the war as a result of their industrialization. The South’s geography allowed them to have an economy that mainly consisted of smaller farms and large plantations, while the Northern geography didn’t adequately
The Civil War that occurred was one of the darkest times in our history as a country. It was a time where there was a complete breakdown of social and political systems. Hundreds of thousands were killed and hundreds of thousands more were aversely affected. However, it was also a time of remembrance and significant moral progress. It is remembered as the turning point in American History and would be the foundation for the Civil Rights movement many years later.
The Civil War determined what kind of nation the United States would become. It determined whether it would be a nation with equal rights for everyone or the biggest country that still abused of slaves. The war started because of the brutal conditions slaves were living in. Many had no education what so ever and were treated worse than animals. Back then part of this country found this acceptable and demanded to keep their slaves while the others demanded freedom. Today there are many movies about the civil war. For example the movie Glory which was made in December 15, 1989 it was directed by Edward Zwick. The movie depicts the lives of African American soldiers who had to endure tougher training than the American man, and American officials who had to make these men into real action fighting soldiers. The defining characters in this movie were. Major Cabot Forbes who was very tender towards the African American soldiers and he even stood up for them. Private Trip gave up his freedom in order to fight is true fighter. Corporal Thomas Searles who struggled a lot in the training camp but in the end pulled through. Glory is mainly about men with struggles that have to overcome their torments in order to end the Civil War. It took time and strength but the colored regiment became just as good as any white one. Corporal Thomas Searles, Major Cabot Forbes, and Private Trip all fought for what they believed in even at the time of their last breathes something they would have never done at the beginning of the movie.
