Completing this project helped me learn more about Cinnamons modern day use and the history behind it. Before starting this project cinnamon was just another spice to me but, now I see that there are so many more uses for it. For example, I learned about the various health benefits cinnamon has as an antioxidant. I learned ways I can implement it into my diet to improve my overall health. I also learned about how ancient civilizations used it as a food preservative which I thought was really interesting. The most challenging thing about completing this project sounds silly but it was actually finding a world map at a store. My mom and I went to so many different ones and apparently, no one had them in stock, but we finally found one at Hobby
Kool-aid was invented by a man named Edwin Perkins He was born in the state of Iowa but he eventually went to live in Nebraska. At about 1927 he invented Kool-aid He was inspired by the drink Fruit smack, but because he wanted to lower the cost of shipping he removed all fluids from the drink. This dry powder eventually became Kool-aid. However Kool-aid did not always go by the same name It was originally Kool-Ade but because Ade refers to juice he had to change it tho the name it has today. Eventually Kool-aid got their own mascot the cool-aid man (He often broke through walls), They also had a comic with 7 issues, along with the Atari 2600 came the “Adventures of Kool-aid Man”. Kool-aid can still be bought today and has manny flavors

Now that we’ve made our way through the journey of Ken Jennings’ incredible book I feel as if it’s important for me to try to sway you to become more involved in geography. It’s a truly fascinating subject and can take you places you never thought you could ever visit. If you don’t want to leave your home, at least buy an atlas, map, or visit Google Earth. You never know what you could discover in your journey. If you don’t think maps or an atlas is your thing, you never know if you never try. Jennings created a journey, for me I would have never cared to take had it not been assigned as a college class assignment, but now I’m so glad I did. Jennings shined a different light on geocaching, and map hunting. He made it fun, interesting, and overall thrilling.
For this project I chose the book written by Jane Goodall called Harvest for Hope: A Guide to Mindful Eating. Being a very big animal lover I was excited to see her name on the list of book choices so I can further invest my time into getting to know her ideology that goes beyond the world of chimpanzees. I had first seen her inside a documentary I found on Netflix when I had the flu a few years ago. I had never heard of this book and never been familiar with a lot of her views and opinions surrounding human health. Although not surprising, her views surrounded itself with a high awareness for the environment, animals, and long lasting happy health for you and your family. The healthy alternatives she is proposing inside this book, like choosing to eat organic foods for example, goes beyond a temporary suggestion and reaches into the realm of helping the reader change their lifestyle for the better. This interesting book surrounds itself in her personal health and food advice supported with evidential facts. The strongest points that I personally found the most refreshing were her ideas on alternative ways to consume more healthy foods.

I enjoyed my research on chocolate because I learned a-lot about my favorite treat. It was interesting to learn how chocolate starts out as a seed and the process that it goes through before a consumer can buy it. The part I enjoyed the most was finding out about the history of chocolate. I am happy that chocolate is not only for the elite anymore and that everyone can enjoy this delicious treat.

I was a simple boy, named William right after my daddy and mommy fell in love. A boy who would eat nothing but Ferrero Rocher balls during weddings. I have always thought that Ferrero Rocher balls were like marriages, full of surprises in layers which one could only imagine if they had a taste of it. The glimmering gold foil, which wraps around the ball, represents the initial attraction of a couple. Once the ball is unwrapped and placed into your mouth you could feel the rocky outer layer of crushed hazelnuts in thin chocolate that resembles a relationship going through a succession of both good and bad experiences. After all the trials and tribulations you would crush the crispy floor hidden by the hazelnuts to reach a smooth chocolaty blanket engulfing a whole hazelnut, which bears resemblance, to a couple happily in love with a child.

Cinnamon is metabolized into sodium benzoate and eating cinnamon significantly elevates the level of sodium benzoate in your brain. Recent studies have shown that sodium benzoate helps with brain function and may prevent neurological disorders. It does this by creating a significant number of chemicals in the brain called neurotropic factors. These factors stimulate the birth of new neurons and encourage the survival of existing neurons. This greatly slows down degenerative diseases of the brain like Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s.
Until the 1950s, Atlases were mostly comprised of maps that simply show space and place. However in 1953, the World Geo-Graphic Atlas, published by Walter Paepcke’s Container Corporation of America (CCA) with Herbert Bayer, changed people’s notion of what maps look like and what information they contain. Bayer believed, that maps were “a record of time and perhaps even a tool of prognostication.” By the use of Isotypes (International System of Typographic Picture Education), Bayer created an atlas that is universal, therefore allowed viewers to understand complex data more clearly and easily.
Actually doing this project helped me to realize that the way I was living wasnt very healthy, and it helped me to make a change that i had been trying to make for myself for a long time. Honestly I probably wouldn't have made the changes i wanted to if i wasn't in any other way obligated to make some kind of change like i was for this assignment, and i am glad that i had the chance to take part in this life changing experience.
Historical geographer JB Harley wrote an essay on Map Deconstruction in 1989, in which Harley argues that a map is more than just a geographical representation of an area, his theory is that we need to look at a map not just as a geographical image but in its entire context. Harley points out that by an examination of the social structures that have influenced map making, that we may gain more knowledge about the world. The maps social construction is made from debate about what it should show. Harley broke away from the traditional argument about maps and examined the biases that govern the map and the map makers, by looking at what the maps included or excluded. Harley’s “basic argument within this essay is that we should encourage an epistemological shift in the way we interpret the nature of cartography.” Therefore Harley’s aim within his essay on ‘Deconstructing the Map’ was to break down the assumed ideas of a map being a purely scientific creation.
Real results of the cinnamon business are Cinnamon plumes, Leaf oil, and Bark oil. Other than these cinnamon chips and quislings are some auxiliary results of the cinnamon handling industry.
