A common question that many ask (no matter their religion) concerns origin. Many religions answer this question in many different ways. According to Islam, Allah is the creator of the universe (Islam: An Overview). The Quran explains the process of the creation of man as well. “Verily We created man from a product of wet earth; then placed him as a drop (of seed) in a safe lodging; then We fashioned the drop into a clot, then We fashioned the clot into a little lump, then We fashioned the little lump into bones, then clothed the bones with flesh, and then produced it another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of Creators!” (23:12-14). From a Christian perspective, God did create the universe as well as man. “Then the Lord God formed the man out of the dust from the ground and breathed the breath of life into his nostrils, and the man became a living being”. (Gen.2.7). One of the biggest differences in the creation process between Christianity and Islam is that the Bible says that man was created in the image of God (Gen.1:27)
People in today’s society have a strong desire to feel relevant. Everyone worldwide wants to be valued. Due to this, we are going to look at the views of Islam and Christianity concerning the importance of man.

Islam desires a man to do good and follow the Quran. However, once you take a closer look you can start to see the differences. Islam teaches the following: “The standard for salvation is having one’s good deeds outweigh the bad. Therefore it is based on human effort“(Islam: An Overview). So in essence, Islam teaches that man can be good in themselves. The Bible paints a completely different picture. According to scripture, mankind is made up of sinners (Rom.3.23). The Bible goes on to say that no one is righteous and good
