Christ promised to build His church, but who are what is God's church?
Contrary to what the Catholic Church, the Mormon Church and the Churches of Christ have said about being the true church...
The church Christ built is the invisible church, which is the body of believers everywhere that have put their faith and trust in the finish work of Jesus Christ on the cross for salvation, for there is no other name under heaven which man can be saved. For we are a royal priesthood, a holy nation, Cod's possession. We are a light to the world, a light upon a hill which can't be hidden. For we are gentle and respectful, and prepared to give a defense to those who ask for the hope that is in us. The Lord is our strength, so we are able to demolish

We are watchmen on the wall warning people of the great tribulation, so that unbelievers may seek salvation in Christ. We have access to the Throne of God, because of the grace pour out unto us through faith in Jesus Christ. We are doers of the word, not just hearers only, for we love God's Word, so we are students of Scriptures, rightly dividing word the truth. We are living stones, to build a spiritual house, as we offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God. We have compassionate hearts, meekness for we were chosen by God, and God has transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son. We have been adopted, and have redemption through the blood of Christ, for it is blood that saves. Being Christians in Christ our thoughts are pure, lovely, and noble, for we keep ourselves from being polluted by this world. Our citizenship is heavenly, and our bodies are a temple where the Holy Spirit and Christ takes up residence. We are without blemish and faultless before Christ, with spiritual wisdom, and with long-suffering we have peace through the blood of the cross. We are not anxious about anything, for tomorrow will take care of itself, …show more content…
We become partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, for we have not stored our treasures on earth, but in heaven. We do everything for the glory of God, and raise our children in the ways of the Lord. When the common and uncommon fall upon us, we lay it at the Cross of Christ, because He is able to help us in our grief, pain, and sorrows. Christ is our advocate to the Father, for when we sin, He is faithful and just to forgive us, and to intercede for us in our hour of need. Those in Christ live by the Spirit, that we may keep in step with the spirit, never trampling upon the grace we received, so as to grieve the Holy Spirit, for we received, not the spirit of this world, but the spirit which is from God. We wear the full armor of the Lord to help us fight the schemes of Satan and foes that attack us with ungodly hearts, for we have the mind of Christ. We die daily to sin, so we deny self-interest, selfishness, and ungodliness, taking up the cross of Christ and following Him. We are fellow workers and God's field to help bring the world to Christ, therefore we no longer live for ourselves, but for Christ who lives in
In Christian society and belief, as well as many other religions, the one true possession that a person has total control over is their everlasting soul. It is this spirit that makes one truly unique from everyone else. The fight within one’s self between good and evil and the day to day struggle to ensure that the goodness prevails is the focal point of a true believer’s life. It is only by this triumph on goodness that he can achieve Salvation in the eyes of God.
In conclusion, the church is appointed and maintained divinely body of regenerated believers who sustain the true doctrine of God, humanity, Scripture, Jesus Christ, and salvation which are absolutely non-negotiable.
...emselves from the high expectations imposed by human love and live in the freedom Christ purchased on their behalf on the cross.
Human identity can be summed up by looking at it from two perspectives. Who we are in our natural state and who we are in Christ. Mankind in his natural state is driven by his sin nature. Romans 1-8 perfectly lays out who and what we are in our natural state. It also lays out who and what we are in Christ. “For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin.” (Romans 3:9 NIV) In Romans 1:29-31, Paul gives a long list of wicked behaviors that are still prevalent in today’s society, which lets me know that we, in our natural state, are the same as we always have been. There are no exceptions to the rule, besides that of Christ. “All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God.” (3:23) Paul emphasizes in Romans 1-3 how people have tried to free themselves from their sin nature by depending on the Law to no avail. The Law could not bring about justification (Acts 13:39), produce righteousness (Galatians 2:21), produce life (Galatians 3:21), bring about perfection (Hebrews 7:19) or free the conscience from a knowledge of sin (Hebrews 10:1-4). (Johnson, 1896) The fact is that God’s standards are perfect and we alone can never live up to them by any religious act or moral behavior. The good news is that God knew all of this. He knew that by our strength alone, we could not overcome our own sin nature. He sent us a perfect sacrifice to permanently fulfill the Law. That sacrifice was his only Son, Jesus Christ. “God presented Christ as a sacrifice of atonement, through the shedding of his blood—to be received by faith.” (Romans 3:25) Through faith in Jesus Christ, the grace of God has been given to us. Now, rather than being bound we are made free. Instead of unrighteousness abounding in ou...
“Therefore, just as sin came into the world through one man, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men because all sinned” (Romans 5:12). In order for humanity to fulfill it’s created purpose and be completely satisfied in life, each individual must worship God in every deed, word, and thought. God reveals this purpose over and over again in the first eleven chapters of Genesis in the story of Cain and Able, Noah and the flood, the tower of Babel, and most importantly, the fall. With all of this in mind, one must ask the question, “How can we fulfill our purpose if we are unable to worship God?” That is where Christ comes in. Because of His great love, He came to this earth and died for humanity so that they could be restored to life (Romans 5:8). By accepting Jesus’ free gift of salvation, His blood covers all sin and His righteousness is credited to the sinner (Romans 6:23). The result, then, is that everyone who receives this gift is now free to live their lives for Christ; fulfilling their created purpose. There is, then, only two human identities. Either one has accepted Christ’s gift of salvation and now identifies as a child of God, or he rejects God and chooses death over life. The child of God now lives under the authority of Christ and interprets everything through a different
The writer explains that the mission God has given us is to destroy the works of the devil. We have that power when we raise our voices in song and praise our God. Jesus Christ is arguably the most world-changing figure in the entirety of human history. Author Paul Little writes: Jesus has been the subject of more literature, art and music than any other person.
What is Christianity all about? What are the basic beliefs of Christianity and how did it begin? According to (AllAboutReligion, 2010),” Christianity began about 2000 years ago in Judea, [presently known today as Israel] with Jesus Christ and His faithful group of disciples”. This paper will address the viewpoint of the Christian faith and its outcome. The central message of Christianity is based upon the teachings of Jesus and his promises. Christianity teaches that there is merely one God in all existence and that God created the universe. It also teaches that Jesus is the only way to be set free from the coming judgment of God and that Jesus desires his values and his standards to abound. Moreover, Christianity is the only religion that offers a savior. Religion has been in every culture since the beginning of human society and there are many religions competing for the heart of humanity throughout the world at large. The following characterizations are based on the Christian faith: redemption, covenant and grace. Although Christianity is a matter of choice for the human race, what type of influence did it have on the China, Africa, and Rome inhabitants?

This is a Bible study that explores various perspectives of who we are in Christ, that is, our identity in Christ Jesus. It may surprise you to learn that many Christians are ignorant of their identity in Christ. If only they knew that satan's strongest weapon against humanity is people's ignorance of the Word. You will find several Bible references used to support almost every statement about our identity in Christ. Knowing who you are in Christ is central to living this life as God intended.
Our Lord Jesus Christ is to whom we are to compare ourselves to, for He is the Ideal. He lived the perfect life, and He is therefore the one we must strive to resemble. He is God in the flesh, representing the way we ought to live – for it is written, "And the Word [that is, God] was made flesh [that is, Jesus], and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:14)
What is the church? This can be a very deep question, or a rather simple one depending on one’s context, theology, and general understanding of Scripture and faith. From my personal experience, most members of the congregations I grew up in if asked this question would point to the church building or sanctuary. This is not that surprising in my opinion when we consider the gorgeous monuments we have built as houses for God. As a child, I would have answered the exact same way as most people in a congregation, and it was not until later in my adulthood that I came to understand “the church” not as a physical building, but as much more. A very common response to this question has been that the church is “the people of God” or even “God’s chosen people.” I, however, prefer the definition of the church as “the community of Christian faith,” a much more inclusive definition than the previous mentioned definitions.
Jesus served as example for all of humanity. His life work was to solve the fundamental problem of humanities sin and to provide eternal life with the Father. Jesus Christ demonstrated the way humans should live. He modeled behavior to the poor, the sick, the imprisoned, women, tax collector, to His friends. He came to set the example of the way to live for Christians. Basically, Jesus life was an outline of how to live your own life. Jesus confirmed that you should love your neighbor as yourself. That you should love your God with all your heart, with all your mind and with all your strength. This was demonstrated on a daily bases. Jesus verified that although humans are prone to sin, one can make a choice to not sin. When tempted by Satan, Jesus refrained from sin and turned to God the Father for strength to turn away from the temptation. Jesus was the teacher of complete, true knowledge.
