Language
Majority of the Chileans speak Spanish with a local slang. Other spoken languages are Mapudungun (a native language), German and English.
Analysis: To ensure that business meeting will be going well and avoid any possible confusions, it is necessary to have an interpreter that are able to understand and communicate with the Chileans.
Religion & beliefs
The majority are Roman Catholics then followed by Evangelical Protestants then their own traditional religions. They celebrate the main Catholics holidays like Easter day and Christmas, so it is preferable not to have business meeting on these special days.
Values & manners
Chileans are family-oriented therefore, they are do not favour working overtime or during the weekends. Foreign …show more content…

In addition, Chileans are very straightforward and not afraid to share their thoughts then foreign investors should be more understanding and not to get offended easily.
Aesthetics; taste and preferences
Lunch is the most important meal for the whole day. Businesses can be closed during the lunch period and it is difficult to reach the Chileans by phone during that time.
Therefore, foreign investors should avoid setting important business meetings during this time
Education
The literacy rate in Chile is 96%, therefore, the people there are mostly well-educated and skilled. Therefore, it is easier to recruit staff as they are well-educated and this actually saved a lot of extra time and money to educate the workers there.

1) Power distance
- As compared to Singapore (74), Chile (63) is lower in term of power distance. So, Singapore have a higher power distance than Chile. Therefore, mutual respect is expected from both countries.

2) Individualism versus Collectivism
- Both countries have similar low amount of individualism and this actually shows that they are more of collectivism than individualism. So Chile actually prefer team achievement than individual
