How do the choices of one character affect the main character?
Isn't it unfair that sometimes the choices other people make has a possibility to impact our life? Well in the novel, Tangerine, the protagonist, Paul Fisher, is faced with choices that he has to endure and overcome. The choices he face are not made by him, but the others around him. For instance, Paul's mom made choices that Paul has to simply live with and endure whatever problem comes his way, Such as moving from Texas to Tangerine County Florida, As well as her signing the "IEP" form without consulting Paul, Lastly She kept family secrets away from Paul. In general, the choices that Paul's mom make impacted Paul's life considerably, but the outcome of one choice ended up helping …show more content…

When Paul mom was enrolling Paul to his first school Lake Windsor she signed Paul up for the vision impairment kids. Not to mention Paul was only determined to play soccer for Lake Windsor and nothing else, Furthermore the form would restrict Paul privileges to play sports, in other words Paul couldn't play soccer. When Paul was informed by Coach Walski he was ineligible to play soccer, Paul raged at him and told him to try to kick his head in for the purpose of letting him back on the team. However, it didn't change anything, Paul dad came in and tried to help out Paul, but all he could do was manage to get Paul to be a manager. Paul argued " I'm not a water boy, Dad. I'm not a team manager, im a player." -Bloor #
Afterwards, a sinkhole incurs and swallow Paul School portables faster than pacman eating the ghosts.
After the sinkhole business was done, the school proposed to the students they will have two options for them; a split schedule or attend Tangerine middle school. Paul realized the opportunity and he ceases it by telling his parents that he wants to go Tangerine middle school. Paul Strongly states "Just let me go to Tangerine Middle School. Do you understand? I wouldn't be a water boy there, I would be a goalie" -Bloor #92
