“Change is hard at first, messy in the middle, and gorgeous at the end” - Robin Sharma. Change is like puberty, it happens to everyone and there's no way around it. Everyone goes through changes; It’s a part of life. Whether it’s physical, mental, emotional, or anything in between. In the book The Adventures Of Tom Sawyer, the main character, Tom, faces a lot of changes that people can relate to. Tom goes through changes with his social life. For example, in the commencement of the book he was best friends with Joe Harper, then towards the end of the book he was closer to Huck. Tom started hanging out with Huck more. I think one of the things that brought them closer was Dr. Robinson's murder. After the murder, they would go treasure hunting together, go on adventures together, and try to find out what Injun One of the changes I have gone through was academically. At the beginning of the year, I already knew everything. At my school last year, they taught me most of the stuff we were learning at the beginning of this year. Basically I didn't have to study, or try hard and could still get A’s. As the year went on we started learning new stuff I never learned before. That meant I had to study more and try harder. It was hard getting used to, because I wasn't used to having to try hard to get good grades. Now that I am used to it, it’s not as hard or as bad as I thought it was. Another change I have gone through this year is a social change. When I moved back to Sartell, of course I was going to have to make new friends. Because I lived in Sartell before, I could have kept my old friends, or make new friends. I decided I was going to make new friends. Before I left, I didn't like my friends. I didn't like to be around them, they were toxic friends. I would always be the one to make plans, I would always be the one who would pay for their stuff, and I didn't like it.
