There are plenty distractions around you everyday, and when you throw in a cell phone that just doubles it. Cell phones can be good for communication but when you use them in the wrong situation it can cause a lot of problems. When students use them while in school or when studying it can cause their grades to slip. Also, when you use you’re phone while on the job, it can make your work suffer. Since they have a small screen and can be hidden it is easy for students to cheat on tests, text during class, listen to music and browse the internet. Thinking Critically states on page 44 that "95 percent of high school students admitted they regularly sent emails and texts during class time, 94 percent said they browsed file sharing sites or social media during class, 93 percent listened to music, and 91 percent said they talked on their phones during class".
