Tommy Tan Mr Mascaro SAHSHC TT Period 2 Abortion and Capital Punishment Debate The first reason that abortion is justified and should be legal is stated as such; allowing an infant to be given life into a home where the parents do not want them is cruel and could lead to later neglect. If the child was given the opportunity to live on the Earth, parents play an extremely important role. Without them, the chances of the child becoming an outcast in society is much higher. The way children are raised from the beginning play a huge role into how they will be as a person when they are an adult. If they were to be neglected by their parents, the likelihood of the child is to be rebellious and a nuisance to the society. The child will be like a pest to society and the law would have to put him in jail and that costs tax money and eventually using resources that could be used elsewhere. Secondly in the cases of rape or incest, a baby that does not be aborted could remind the woman of the horrible event she had experienced; even trauma. The child would be the source of pain and suffering to the mother as well as a life time reminder that she was a victim. In the case of incest, the child may be given birth to as a child with special needs and cannot function and take care of himself/herself like a normal person. If the situation is as such, the mother would have to exhaust her financial supplies to support a child that causes her mental suffrage, thus, abortion in this situation would be ideal. Lastly, at the current moment many foster homes and orphanages do not have a lot of vacancy. Enrolling a child into the foster care system would way even heavier on already scarce resources. How is it acceptable to put upon the capital punishment if the person is innocent? The state should not have the right to accuse or take way a persons life just to their liking and their assumption. What if the person that was already killed, later was proven innocent? In conclusion, that is why the capital punishment should be abolished.
