On 5/16/18 and 5/22/18 I spoke with and ordered wound care supplies for Mr. Elliott. We have been trying to coordinate meeting at an appointment with Dr. Raythatha. Since there has been a conflict in my schedule I will meet him at a physical therapy appointment. On 5/30/18 I spoke with Ortho-Tec regarding the new arm. They have had delays due to some parts that were on back order. He will be fitted for his arm on 5/31/18. On 5/31/18 I met Mr. Elliott at the physical therapy location. He walks still in a toe touch position with the left foot, he is very tight due to scar tissue to the ankle causing him difficulty getting the foot on the floor when walking or standing. His physical therapist said he is doing a great job. He attends as directed
During the interview, the Physical Therapist I conferred with was very thorough and straightforward in his responses to the questions that were given. I decided to interview another one of my mother’s fellow co-workers, Mr. Stephen Chan, considering his new experiences in the Physical Therapy field. I met with Mr. Stephen Chan at the Kaiser Permanente Outpatient Orthopedic Clinic that is located in Union City. The essential subject matters that we discussed consisted of his Major and Minor in college, the Residency Program that he takes part in, variations of attitudes, and advantages in the workforce.

He said that Mr. Rasak is a high-risk surgery candidate. He fears that with his heart, edema to the extremity that he is at high risk for a surgery not healing and risking an amputation. He would not recommend any surgery. He said that he has another injection that also included Toradol that may help to give him more relief for a longer period of time. He can have the injections every 3 to 4 months. He also told Mr. Rasak that he is leaving the practice moving to another State so another physician in the practice who specializes in ankles will take over his care. We also discussed the possibility that he may be helped with the pain with some other medications such as Mobic. He was told to speak with his primary care provider since he knows his history and all of the medications he takes. In the meantime, he can take Tylenol Arthritis. The injection was performed at the office and a new

Over the course of two semesters I shadowed Dr. Robert Marsh as he interacted with countless and diverse patients seeking orthopedic treatment. Through my observation, I had the opportunity to experience the doctor patient relationship and the great responsibility that relationship entailed. His passion and commitment to every patient he helped, taught me that to care for and respect the patient is just as important as treating their injuries. This experience taught me that as a physician you need to work with the patient as well as those around you (residents/physicians/nur sing staff) in order to be a reliable source of information and have the insight for the patient’s well-being.
I had a patient A&O x3 diagnosed with gout. He has been in the hospital for two days. His gait couldn’t be assess because the patient refused to get out of be because of severe foot pain,
Mr. McDonald has started to treat with a Chiropractor. He reports that has helped with his low back pain. He said the Chiropractor doesn’t want him to start working with a personal trainer until he has finished with his physical therapy and acupuncture. The acupuncture has just started and he reports feeling relief just after one session. It took several calls to Dr. Shah’s office to obtain all of the orders he wanted for Mr. McDonald to have.
Post-traumatic stress disorder is something that tons of people around the world struggle with daily. It is a disorder people battle from within that most people do not ever see or understand. It is referred to as the “invisible wound”. What is PTSD? What are the effects of PTSD? What are the treatment options for PTSD? The American Psychiatric Association first added PTSD to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders in 1980. Before it was recognized as PTSD, it was called many different names such as “battle fatigue”, “shell shock”, and “war neurosis”. Even though there are treatment options available, there is millions of dollars going
Health Care workers are constantly faced with legal and ethical issues every day during the course of their work. It is important that the health care workers have a clear understanding of these legal and ethical issues that they will face (1). In the case study analysed key legal and ethical issues arise during the initial decision-making of the incident, when the second ambulance crew arrived, throughout the treatment and during the transfer of patient to the hospital. The ethical issues in this case can be described as what the paramedic believes is the right thing to do for the patient and the legal issues control what the law describes that the paramedic should do in this situation (2, 3). It is therefore important that paramedics also
Once school was out last year, I had done something to my foot. I don’t know what happened to it, but I know a general time frame it happened in. At first, I thought it was just my foot getting used to the new summer conditioning. After about three weeks, the pain had moved towards my achilles tendon. Once that happened, I only had pain when I pointed my toes, or pushed through my toes. The pain was to a point where my coach was noticing a change in tumbling, so she had me go to a doctor to make sure everything was
There are an estimated 6.5 million stroke survivors in the country. Twenty percent of stroke survivors suffer from foot drop, the inability to raise the foot (WLS-TV Chicago, 2010). Lower limb hemiparesis and foot drop affects gait, which can have an impact on normal daily activities. One of the main goals of patients with hemiparesis is to be able to walk independently and return to their normal activities. Physical therapists know that poor gait from ankle and /or knee joint problems can affect the pelvis, lower back, spine and neck as the body tries to compensate for the defective gait. Using electrical stimulation to treat hemiparesis and foot drop can help a patient achieve functional gait and return to their normal activities.
The cost of Medical equipment plays a significant role in the delivery of health care. The clinical engineering at Victoria Hospital is an important branch of the hospital team management that are working to strategies ways to improve quality of service and lower cost repairs of equipments. The team members from Biomedical and maintenance engineering’s roles are to ensure utilization of quality equipments such as endoscope and minimize length of repair time. All these issues are a major influence in the hospital’s project cost. For example, Victory hospital, which is located in Canada, is in the process of evaluating different options to decrease cost of its endoscope repair. This equipment is use in the endoscopy department for gastroenterological and surgical procedures. In 1993, 2,500 cases where approximately performed and extensive maintenance of the equipment where needed before and after each of those cases. Despite the appropriate care of the scope, repair requirement where still needed. The total cost of repair that year was $60,000 and the repair services where done by an original equipment manufacturers in Ontario.
Good Morning Dr. Holzner, just a heads up I was working on request for patient Lieb, Jeffrey whom you have seen on 12/28 as new process, but it looks like he started evaluation already with UCLA and had a visit on 1/4/15 with them.
