It is difficult to be an excellent leader of an organization nowadays. There are many challenges faced by a leader and they need to have specific leadership skill to solve the problems. Sunway Group had faced several challenges and its leader Jeffrey Cheah success to solve the problems and lead the company to a success phases.

3.1 Honesty makes Sunway group survive
Honesty is one of the characteristics of leadership that lends itself to credibility. Those who are honest, especially about concerns, make it far more likely that obstacles will be addressed rather than avoided. In 80s and 90s, Sunway group has survived through two financial crises. Government and organisations need to work together to increase women’s participation in the workforce and support women’s progress through the organisation. Some examples are provision of tax, subsidy or incentive from the government to establish childcare facilities, offering the option of working from home, longer maternity leave, or setting up women development programmes to equip women with the necessary skills to raise their ambition and profile. Organisations may also adopt more flexible working hours and result-oriented performance evaluation instead of assessing employees based on hours worked. As a consequence, Sunway has launched a project called Sunway’s Women Talent Project to pursue initiatives to support women at the workplace. As a smart leader, Jeffrey Cheah recognises the need to attract new talents and to retain existing ones in the workforce. He has built a team to formulate a game plan to attract and retain women talents in the organisation. Having a strong management is for a short-term positive impact as strategic will be changed over time and the outsource of the impact will be different, however with a strong management, it will lead Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall to a decrease in costs and an increase in profit for this substance. Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall does have a strong management strategic, however not in decision making. There are few reasons why strategic leadership fails, one of the usual reason which brings strategic leadership to failure is a poor business decision making during the strategic management which conducted by the CEO of the organization in coordinate with an executive team. Sunway Pyramid has a high debt burden that will increase the debt interest payments of Sunway Pyramid shopping mall and also increasing the risk of becoming bankruptcy with the poor business decision making during the strategic
