II. Analysis on Donald Trump’s Business Leadership

2.1. Leadership – Definition

Leadership can be defined as the way through which one individual has impacts and influences the attitudes and behavior of other people at a workplace. The tasks of leaders in corporations include organizational as well as departmental activities. Leaders are responsible fr coordination of these activities so as to reach the goals successfully by motivating and inspiring team members. (DUYGULU, Ethem and Ciraklar, Nurcan, 2008). Besides, leaders are supposed to resolve issues by avoiding conflicting situations related to work and strive to boost progress on achieving the overall objectives of a company. So, as for years mainstream America and the whole business world has known and recognized Mr. Trump for its great business practices and real estate success made him a suitable figure I would represent in my project. This, however, it is not the only cause of my decision. After reading several books he wrote, such as, ‘The Art of The Deal’, ‘Think like a billionaire’, , ‘Think like a Champion’ , ‘The way to the Top’, ‘Why we want you to be rich’ ( in collaboration with Robert Kiyosaki). Moreover, several documentaries were dedicated to him such as ‘Life Story of Billionaire Donald Trump’, ‘Amazing Success Story of Donald Trump’, ‘Donald Trump - All American Billionaire’, and after watching them I am in a position to understand and discuss some different aspects about his business life and leadership. I never had the chance to assess his personality and success personally, but nonetheless my views will be based purely on reading and watching his behavior. Even though on the surface, it appears as though he takes great risks and labeling him as a bit of a loose cannon. However, his business decisions are very conservative if you listen to him. He tends to buy properties that are a safer choice, for instance possessing less downside no matter that have they have less of an upside. In general, taking risks is part of doing business, but the key is to make sure the risks are making sure the risks are foreseen and calculated so as you identify downsides and upsides.

Goal Setting – People who have higher expectations for their performance and accomplishments are those who are driven set aims for themselves and set big goals and objectives. Moreover, they outperform and overlook their counterparts even when they cannot reach to meet their goals. In this regard, Donald Trump is no different at all. That is why , at least partially, he has achieved and accomplished up to this level in his lifetime by having great expectations for himself and those around him. If you want to reach big things, having a clear vision is of essential requirements.
