Dangote Cement- An Emerging Force in Global Cement Production
Dangote Cement is Africa’s leading cement producer with existing and planned operations in 16 African countries, revenues in excess of US$2 billion and nearly 17,000 employees.
Dangote is a fully integrated quarry-to-customer producer with production capacity of up to 43.3 million tonnes per annum (Mta) across Africa at the end of 2015. They are investing several billion dollars to build manufacturing plants and import/grinding terminals across Africa and by 2020 they plan to have more than 70Mta capacity across Africa and beyond.
They have operational facilities in Senegal, South Africa, Cameroon and Ghana (importation), Ethiopia, Zambia, Tanzania and are committed to building integrated production factories in Rep. Congo, Kenya, Zimbabwe and outside of Africa, Nepal. They also plan to build import or grinding facilities in Sierra Leone, Liberia and add new grinding facilities Ghana.
All the company operations at manufacturing plants and cement terminals conform to NIS ISO 9001 : 2008 Quality Management System and NIS BS OHSAS 18001 : 2007 Occupational Health Management System.
