Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989, in Reading, Pennsylvania. During the age of nine, she started becoming interested in musical theater and even performed at the Berks Young Theatre Academy productions. She took many vocal lessons and traveled regularly to New York City. Later, she shifted her focus to country music and was inspired by Shania Twain's songs. Furthermore, she spent her weekends performing at local festivals and events. With this ongoing determination since childhood, Taylor Swift is an artist who most definitely deserves to be on the Hall of Fame. Swift is not only dedicated, but also passionate. She is passionate to create amazing music for the world and never stops. Taylor Swift was about 12 years old when Ronnie Cremer taught her how to play guitar and she started writing her first single, "Lucky You". Finally, to help her break into country music, her father transferred to the Nashville office of Merrill Lynch when she was 14 years of age. After she attended public high school, which through homeschooling could accommodate her touring schedule, her career beginnings truly began. Swift first worked with
Swift’s debut song isn’t like the others. Her big debut song wasn’t about revenge or heartbreak, but rather her inspiration, Tim McGraw. ‘Tim McGraw” was written in Taylor’s math class when she was 16, along side of Liz Rose. Not only does it remind her of her true inspiration, but also of her un-named summer love, who was going to college, and had to dump Swift. But, not only was this her big debut, it also happened to be her first ever published song. It was published June 19, 2006 by Big Machine Records, and has sold over a million downloads. It reached about 40 and 6 on the “Billboard Top 100” and “Hot Country Songs” in the United States.
She has numerous achievements and awards, Swift has shown an outstanding impact throughout the world, and has multiple contributions to the country music industry. These been shown through all of the work Taylor Swift does. She deserves this award not only because of the top hits she writes and performs, but also because of the person she is off stage too. Ever since I was in eighth grade, I have been obsessed with Taylor Swift. She has been my role model since I was thirteen. When you look at most singers today, they have to be singing about drugs or alcohol, using vulgar language, or performing half-dressed. You never see Taylor Swift doing anything that she would be ashamed of later in life. On the other hand, she has had many relationships that have lasted short time periods. At least, she is not getting married for 72 days or even 24 hours such Kim Kardashian or Britney Spears. This is why I chose to write a research paper on her.
