History of carpentry

The history of carpentry, experts believe, began prior to 5,000 B.C. (Prostak, np). The history of carpentry started thousands of years ago with the japanese, americans, egyptians, europeans, and germans learning how to make shelters and tools that helped them better live their lives. Although carpentry began over 7,000 years ago it is still progressing today. The history of carpentry began as a necessity and has, over the last several centuries, developed not only as a necessity, but also an art form in many different ways and countries.

they first built furniture by using bone, ivory and metal and also use it for their boats for war. they use timber that grew from Anatolian plateau (Belek,Turkey) and along from Levantine (Turkey). they use the materials for tools ( wedges, mallets, chisels, hammers, and compass) and furnitures ( beds, chairs, windows, and panels) they also craved symbols like egyptians and spain's designs.
The Early Chinese they started carpentry in 720 B.C. The person who discovered carpentry for the chinese is Lu Ban he started carpentry by using chalk lines on the walls and the floor and then he learned to use that by making temples and furnitures but Lu Ban died and later on people followed his footsteps and also run everything traditions and haven’t changed since 1500’s but 1500 years after lu ban died they made a book of his career and his tool and everything that he did so everyone will learn how to do carpentry and its …show more content…

but in middle ages they need mathematics and knowledge to do these certain ways so they learn their mistakes most of the buildings are made out of wood and most of of them are made of stone but they need wood materials to level the stones and for roofing but when they are building on houses with stone they mostly use wood for windows frames, doors, roof beams, floors and wall interiors. but right now there's not much of the ruins of the middle ages right now they rebuilding them or some of them are haven’t been touched but soon will be collapsed because the wood beams won’t last long the most they last long is over 100,000
