My career goals are to work in mental health, specifically focusing on children or older adults. Working with children has always been a pleasurable experience for me. I have been volunteering at a children’s group at a domestic violence shelter and enjoy the positive impact I have for the children going through this difficult time. It is rewarding to see the children at the shelter forget about their daily struggles and have a good time working on crafts and other activities. I’m hoping to gain more experience while interning with children in mental health settings.
