We are recommending they implement an Enterprise Network Monitoring System (NMS). An NMS system uses This product will monitor SNMP traps from all devices on the network and then report them to a central dashboard. We recommend the company start a Network Operations Center (NOC) that conducts automated monitoring for devices going down and also of any configuration changes to devices on the network. Items marked as ‘high priority’ will automatically be messaged to a small NOC team who will oversee the automated monitoring efforts 24x7. The CI will help in tracking what devices need configuration changes, but also aid in reporting the number of failed changes to successful changes. Standardized Change management notification email template: We recommend that Caregroup use a standardized change notification email template to notify change management and business group stakeholders the details for an upcoming change. This will help provide a consistent format to communicate updates as well as support the development culture of change management at the firm. Emergency Changes: We recommend Caremark also implement an Emergency change procedure in their change control process to streamline ‘hotfixes’. The streamlined process would bypass approval from the Change Management Council for implementation, however, part of the process would entail a debrief as well as a review of the change to ensure no negative impact and that the ‘hotfix’ conforms to approved configuration
