Can you imagine being on a giant ship and hearing a loud BOOM! You may just think that someone broke something or that the ship is in trouble, although you can’t ever imagine sinking on an “UNSINKABLE SHIP.” Titanic was the biggest ship in the world and one of the most amazing ships. But it also has one of the most tragic stories. Many people made awful decisions such as Bruce Ismay, the Captain, Crew, and Thomas Andrews. Nevertheless after reading this, your sure to come to the realization the it is the Captain Smith and his crew that were responsible.

First is some background information. Thomas Andrews, the managing director and head of the drafting department of the shipbuilding company Harland and Wolff, designed the ship. Bruce Ismay was the managing director of the White Star Line that owned the Harland and Wolff company. In other words, Bruce Ismay owned the Titanic. Bruce Ismay is the one who decided not to have enough lifeboats for all the passengers because it would have looked too cluttered. It was also his idea to add the last and forth smoke stack (pillar on the ship), that was not functional, so the ship looked “even and right”. Captain Smith was the captain of the ship. instructions to the crew to start to lower the lifeboat and to put children and women in first.The first few lifeboats were only half filled! And although it has been reported that Smith tried to call back some of the lifeboats to save more people, the crew didn’t listen and kept rowing away from the boat, worried the mass of floating people would pull them under if they went back.
