I felt like a prisoner in my own mind, thought Violet. Violet Thompson was your everyday weird goth child. Her parents often seem like she’s not in the room. Her so called “friends” don’t seem to understand her. And sometimes gets bullied for being that weird kid at school. These causes have made Violet take the consideration of committing suicide, causing her to go at war with her mind. A few days later though, a boy named Zayn comes up to Violet and asks her if she would like to join a gang. Violet automatically refuses, but Zayn continued as if she didn’t say a word. Saying that when you have become a part of it, you are treated like one of their own, like family. Intrigued, Violet tells Zayn that she wants to meet them in person. Three years have passed and Violet has been with the gang ever since.Violet not only felt grateful, but appreciated for being with them. With the gang, she feels complete. She no longer feels like an outsider. She not only gained friends, but a family. Walking home to school, she sees Zayn approaching her. Ever since becoming a part of the gang, Violet and Zayn have become inseparable. Violet similes at him, he does so in return. “Hey, Deven told me that we are expected to sell some drugs after school”, he said. “Fine by me.” Violet replied. Violet knew that with joining the gang she would have to do some things that were illegal, but over the years she learned how to accomplish the orders without getting caught. After school, Zayn and Violet went to their hideout (an abandoned house) to collect the drugs. Once collected, they went straight to the neighborhood that always seems to want something from them. On the verge of giving some drugs to a crackhead, someone shouted, “Hey!”. Violet turns around to see two cops running towards them.
