This song is one of the many references towards the notorious couple Bonnie and Clyde, who met through a mutual friend in the 1930s. When they started dating in the late 1930s Clyde was sentenced to prison on counts of burglary. He was then set out on parole and rekindle things with Bonnie in 1932. They started the life of crime together in 1932. Just two years later it ended in 1934. Both of them died together on May 23, 1934 in Sailes, Louisiana. Just in those two years they had a total of 13 murders and several counts of burglary and robberies. Bonnie and Clyde were killed in an ambush that a friend’s father set up to protect his son. One of Her close friends set her up with him. They started talking during the 1930s. Before she met Clyde he already had a criminal record because his older brother Buck influenced him in that kind of lifestyle. In 1930 Clyde got sent to prison on different counts of burglary. Bonnie’s aunt wasn’t a big fan of Bonnie dating Clyde because of his past, because she taught her would influence her in a negative way, “A woman wasn’t considered strong-minded enough to be a part of criminal activities through her own choices. If Bonnie wasn’t being forced to ride along with Clyde, then she was just a silly, love-addled girl who couldn’t be expected to know better” (Guinn 137). Bonnie was madly in love with him that she sneaked a gun into the prison and helped him escape. He got caught after he had escaped and was sentenced to prison for 14 years. He didn’t end up staying in prison for the 14 year. He got parole in February 1932 and rekindle things with Bonnie. Bonnie was never a part of Clyde’s criminal gang which was called Lake Dallas Gang. Clyde didn’t want Bonnie in that kind of life style which she hated because she wanted to be a part of every that Clyde was doing. They were famous for being American Criminals because they committed crimes all of the United States. The thing that made sure cops were aware of them was when they set up a prison break at Eastham. Their crime spree that lasted from 1932 through 1934 they committed a total of 13 murders and several robberies and burglaries. Once Clyde got out of prison in 1932 he wanted to get revenge on the prison farm. He and his fellow gang members planned to help people escape from Eastham. Before they could attack Eastham they needed to get supplies like guns, cars, and more people to assist them. While they were gathering their material for the attack, they were being hunted by a variety of people. Even though they were wanted they kept on getting into more trouble. For instance, they would steal people’s cars and rob business or banks. When they were attacking Eastham, one of Clyde’s friends killed Major Crowson, who was one of their best officers. Colonel Lee Simons wanted revenge on Bonnie and Clyde for killing his partner Crowson, so his promise to him was, “resettling accounts. Those fellows had their day. We’ll have ours.
