One of the most well-known good versus evil duo can be found in the conflict between the Joker (Jack Napier) and Batman (Bruce Wayne). Imagine, a dark gloomy type New York City where the sky is filled with clouds and the only light that peers through is that of lightening, the moon where is shines through the small gaps in the clouds and the iconic light that shines clear and bright above the city in the shape of a bat. This is the setting where the Joker and Batman clash while trying to fulfill their calling.

After his unsuccessful career attempt as a comedian he started his career in crime under the name of Red Hood. Unfortunately, his wife died accidentally which caused him to go insane. This insane persona was the creation of the Joker. Similarly, after the murder of Bruce Wayne’s parents he made an oath to get rid of all the evil in Gotham City. Bruce began his quest by training mentally and physically but recognized this wasn’t going to be enough to get the job done, so he concluded that in order to defeat this evil he would have to attack them through their fears. Bruce believed these criminals were gullible and weak so he felt that he needed to create a character that would create significant fear. Batman in a form fitting black suit with a mask that covers most of his face and Joker with a purple suit and green shirt that matches his hair but the most distinctive attribute Joker has is his clown like face with his bright red exaggerated lips. Their clothing choices are a reflection of their personalities. Batman is more of an introvert using the mask as a form of protection from the world knowing who he is, while Joker’s outfit is bright and begs for attention just like Joker’s personality.
