Comic Book Summary: “Batman Earth One”
This comic book is one of the best reading materials to have ever been released to the market. The book captures a series of events that run from drug dealing, corruption, and betrayal to murder in a small city of Gotham. The story begins with an eight-year-old son of Dr. Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne, who witnesses his parent’s killings just after they walk from the cinema. Thesis statement: The comic book has addressed the city’s filth and corruption through a series of artistic and literary skills. The father to Wayne is a mayor candidate for Gotham City. The mother, Martha Wayne, equally loses her life in the assassination that is witnessed by both Wayne and some street girl. The father to Bruce Wayne earlier on had received death threats that made him hire the services of a former military and a skilled martial artist, Alfred Pennyworth. The press moves ahead to nickname Bruce “Batman,” an issue that infuriates the Mayor. Cobblepot tasks a former police officer by the name Jacob Weaver to find Bruce but another character comes in to neutralize the situation. The “Birthday Boy” who happens to be a serial killer moves ahead to clash with Weaver making it hard to find Bruce. It is until then that this serial killer is shown to be the one kidnapping the girls. James Gordon is now tasked with finding the serial killer. Weaver is finally killed and Bruce’s investigation goes head to bear some fruits. He realizes that Arkham manor is the place where the serial killer has been taking the girls he kidnaps. Barbra, Gordon’s teenage girl is kidnapped by some petty thug living in the City. Axe and Bullock seem to be the ones responsible for the kidnapping although the latter is indirectly involved.
