“Hurry up, we almost arrive our base camp! Once we climb over this mountain, we will be able to see the camp.”
“Yes, sir!”, I and other platoons strongly answer to him although our body are extremely exhausted by a long time military drill. We already had climbed over more than five mountains and remained a last peak of the mountain. A chill wind touching my cheek reminded me of the harsh of the winter cold. The wetted clothes by the sweat was slowly cooling down and helped the cold winter to bother our march. We could not drink any water because our water in the water bottle completely frozen.
We were walking and walking to finish this drill. Suddenly, someone shouted back of me, “Commander! Mr. Kim falls behind so far. We need to slow down.”
“We don’t have enough time. We have to arrive before sunrise. If you can’t keep going, you can give up this drill and return to …show more content…

Kim limped up and said, “No, sir. I can’t give up. I hope to successfully finish this race”
“OK, it’s depending on you. But, If you falls behind again, I can’t allow you to continue, right?”
“Yes, sir.”
He maybe twists his ankle by slipping while climbing mountain. Actually, climbing the mountain covered by snow was very dangerous. Even, we could not use any flashlight because it is a military drill. Rest of the platoons including me decided to ease his burdens. We split his military gears and added it into our bag. I really wished to finish this drill altogether without failure. After that, we were walking over three hours very silently. We did not even have energy to talk. I could hear the sound of heavy breaths and the sound of footstep.
When I reached the end of the ridge, I could find an indistinct light glimmering in the distance. As the light got closer and closer, I could have a confidence that it is our destination. I could see that some other platoons were also arriving and coming into the barracks.
“The day is jut dawning, hurry up! This is a final race!”, the commander pushed
