In this week?s unit, transformational, authentic leadership and fostering collaboration were debated. Transformational leadership is about influencing others to achieve organizational goals. Authentic leadership is about an interpersonal perspective in which a leader invest in his followers for advancement. Fostering collaboration is about the ability to work as team. In addition, Mr. Anthony is a real life example of transformational and an authentic leadership. Mr. Anthony and I set down to discussed his leadership experience. Transformational Leadership Transformational leadership is defined as ?people who tap the motives of followers in order to better reach the goals of leaders and followers? ( Northouse, 2016, p.162). In this leadership style, the leader tries to improve the follower?s self-interests and promote growth personally and professionally. An authentic leader is an individual who is true to servant leadership, core values, purpose, relationships and self-discipline? (Northouse, 2016, p.198).Furthermore, an authentic leader have core values within an organization. At Lakewood elementary the motto is: no excuses and no expectations. This motto was create to established hard work and dedication to all parties. Also, an authentic leader always puts aside his own self-interest to lead the followers.
