“Artificial Intelligence (AI) is the area of computer science focusing on creating machines that can engage on behaviors that humans consider intelligent.”AI has improved a lot in the last century, and is still advancing today. Different approaches in AI are used for different situations. Whether we notice it or not, AI is an important part of our lives. Artificial Intelligence
In 1941, the first computer was invented, and was followed by the stored program computer in 1949. These two inventions helped the development of AI by serving as a means of processing data.
In the 1950s, Norbert Wiener made an observation on feedback theory, that all intelligent behavior is the result of feedback machines. The best example of a feedback machine would be a thermostat, which records the temperature in the room and compares it to the wanted temperature, and then changes the heat based on the difference between the two. Also in 1950, Alan Turing developed the Turing Test. A person asks another human, called the foil, and a computer questions via keyboard and screen, then try to tell which one is the computer. This is repeated with different foils and questioners, if many people cannot tell the difference between the two, then the computer can be considered intelligent. In 1955 Herbert Simon and Alan Newell developed The Logic Theorist, which is considered the first AI program. It would visualise the problem given as a tree diagram, then choose the branch that is most likely to solve the problem. In 1956, John Mccarthy organized a conference he called “The Dartmouth summer research project on Artificial Intelligence.” Though the conference was not successful, the topics discussed there led to more research later on. From then on, this fiel...

...e care of their patients quicker, easier, and more accurately. Another example of applied AI would be the Roomba vacuum cleaner by IRobot . It is a vacuum that will move around your house by itself and clean for you. When it runs into a wall of comes near a ledge, it will stop, turn around, and keep cleaning. Because it is a bottom-up robot, it learns while it cleans and will find the most efficient way to clean a room. If it runs out of battery while its cleaning, it will go back to the dock to charge, then finish its job once it’s charged. The collected dirt is put in a bin on the robot, so humans can empty it when the bin gets full. Robots like the Roomba take care of jobs that humans do not want to do, making life easier and for humans. It also can do a better job of cleaning, especially when we do not want to clean ourselves, or have to clean a lot of space.
