Cigarettes and other tobacco products are causing lung cancer and also second hand smoking. So when someone smokes they are not just effecting their health, they're effecting their family and friends. A lot of people think that smoking does not affect their health but in reality it can cause cancer, and heart problems. Cancer is the second leading cause of death.
One reason that stores should not sell tobacco products is because, lung cancer is the most common type of cancer. Smoking a cigarette takes eleven minutes of your life. Imagine all the people who smoke two packs a day. Soon enough all of those minutes will add up. There are three types of lung cancer. It seems to me that people aren't able to pay their bills but they can buy cigarettes. According to the NFCC’s 2015 Financial Literacy Survey, "Roughly 1 in 4 U.S. adults don’t always pay their bills on time" (NFCC’s 2015 Financial Literacy Survey.) Among U.S. adults ages 18 to 34, just over half are paying their bills on time and have no accounts in collection
With the survey that the tenth grade students took, the majority of the class said they do not smoke, but do other tobacco products such as, Electronic cigarettes, dip or chew. Others said they use cigars and for most of the students that said they smoke they started at a young age some as early as 10 and the number of cigarettes they smoke per day is unreal. The highest amount was 28 cigarettes.
Some people think that smoking has no effect on whether you get cancer or not, but what they don't know is that the most common cancer is lung cancer. Millions of people have died because of smoking. People just think they will die anyway, so might as well do something I enjoy, smoking. Other people have lost loved ones to cancer. Because of this I lost my grandfather because of cancer and he was a smoker my teacher Mrs .
